Netflix Shaves Patent Claim From Broadcom’s Video Streaming Suit

Netflix Inc. does not have to Defending itself against an allegation made by Broadcom Corp. , which claimed the streaming service infringes patents related to streaming technology, a California federal judge ruled on Wednesday.

Broadcom sued Netflix in 2020 alleging infringement of 12 patents, including number 8365183. This patent relates to “distributed computing systems that share resources across multiple users.”

Netflix sought to dismiss the claim based on Patent No. 8,365,183, and Judge James Donato of the US District Court for the Northern District of California granted that request.
