The Internet has supported a woman who wants her husband’s boyfriend out of her home because of his inappropriate behavior.
u/ThroawayMerkleRain was submitted to Reddit’s “AmITheA**hole” forum, and shared her story about her husband’s childhood friend and how she’s growing impatient about him living there. The viral post has 10,000 upvotes and 1,000 comments.
The Redditor begins explaining her predicament by telling readers that her husband’s girlfriend, “N,” was close to homelessness due to work problems, or not wanting to find a job at all. At first, the original poster (OP) took pity on N, and opened his guest bedroom to him.
There are approximately 553,742 people experiencing homelessness in the United States as of January 2017, according to the National Coalition to End Homelessness.
The OP wrote: “‘N’ seemed fine at first, but slowly started to take advantage of our kindness, ‘only drinks as soon as he drinks he is very rude and makes fun of me not even jokingly’.”
She continued, “He comments about my weight or constantly tries to set up my husband with other women in front of me as a ‘joke’. After eating I make him still gossip about my husband about me and they sit together and laugh, I find none of that funny. The more I try to let things get worse with his observations and actions.” .
When she comes home from her part-time job, she finds out that N has invited his friends and completely destroyed the living room. They ate her food and damaged property including the TV.
When the topic was brought up with her husband, he was angry with her and wanted to help a friend because of his “difficult situation”. She explains that N ordered her nearby and that she doesn’t have it. When he confronted N about her concerns, he called her “selfish” and “father***h”. He will not leave unless her husband asks him to.
The OP is worried that he won’t be leaving anytime soon because he’s not looking for a job because he’s drinking, sleeping all day, or with his friends.
“I’m losing my mind and sleeping and everything around this. There is no privacy, the house is always dirty and because of this my husband and I have struggles all the time. I really need it,” she exclaimed.
The “AITA” comment defended the original poster.
“NTA, you’ve been taken advantage of and it looks like your husband and N need to be long-term single roommates,” u/Old_Adhesive_556 received the highest comment with over 10,000 upvotes.

u/murphy2345678 explained, “The NTA will tell you to go through the eviction process. File the paperwork ASAP. Record the video on your phone when you handed him a 30 day notice of eviction,” “If the husband doesn’t like it, tell him he can go too. They both treat you like s** *.Don’t bear it anymore.”
