Yesterday, Hailey Bieber took to TikTok to share a real message and an appeal to all mean people on the internet – especially those who only have negative things to say in her posts. “This is for you guys in my comments every time I post,” she captioned the video.

“Leave me alone at this point. I’m running my business. I don’t do anything, I don’t say anything. Leave me alone, please,” the 25-year-old said on TikTok.

If you scroll back to her TikTok, you can now see a barrage of commenters trying to figure out exactly what she’s referring to: “pov: [you’re] I’m looking for mean comments but don’t come across any of them,” one user wrote on TikTok six days ago.

Although she doesn’t explicitly say it, Hailey seems to be referring to her husband Justin Bieber’s past relationship with Selena Gomez (and all the fans of their relationship who, apparently, can’t leave her). “Enough time has passed where it would be appropriate for you to leave me alone,” she said. “I beg of you. Really. This is my only request. Leave me alone. Be miserable elsewhere, please.” Justin and Selena have been dating for years on and off, starting in 2010 and finally going their separate ways in 2018, just five months before he married Hailey, whom he dated at various points in the midst of it all.

If she’s really referring to “Jelena” stans, you can feel it: It’s been years since Justin and Selena broke up forever, and she’s been dealing with this ever since. For example, in March 2019, Justin responded to commenters, saying, “This is a response to all the immature patients who send Hailee hurtful messages like ‘Always back to Selena’ or ‘Selena is better for him’… Hailey is my bride period if If you don’t like it or support me, it means you don’t support me,” according to US Weekly. Then, in December 2020, Justin took to Instagram Stories to defend his wife, once again, against trolls who were bullying her in support of Selena, according to Elle.

Selena deals with phishing, too. Earlier this week, she made headlines for standing up to body opponents on TikTok. “I don’t care about my weight,” she said, “because people are sterile about it anyway: ‘You’re too small, you’re too big, that doesn’t fit me, hey meh meh…. B*tch, I’m perfect the way I am.'” “

At the end of the day, regardless of whether or not a celebrity is the target, trolling is still bullying (which can have a huge impact on someone’s mental health) – and no one should have to deal with it.
